G̈mthê-mimè Bî (/mɘˈʃɘva/ /ˈmimè/ [natural] [rank (military); rank (position)]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Lîsithapíe Zone of the Union of Engineers.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). G̈mthê-mimè Bî receives an average of 221 cm/y (87 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. G̈mthê-mimè Bî covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3612 m (11850 ft) above sea level.
Overview
G̈mthê-mimè Bî was founded durring the late 12th century in summer of the year 1074, by Gä̂ Córmpf̄s 'Vixen Belle' Ya̋chīy Vú̄̌sh Séoú Zlêyêtë. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and G̈mthê-mimè Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî is buildings are arranged arround a single crampt cobblestone mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. G̈mthê-mimè Bî's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.
Even the most brief look arround G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in G̈mthê-mimè Bî, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.
Civic Infrastructure
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within G̈mthê-mimè Bî. G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain G̈mthê-mimè Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. G̈mthê-mimè Bî's grid is powered by an arcane means.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for G̈mthê-mimè Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
There’s a relatively new religion in G̈mthê-mimè Bî which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.
G̈mthê-mimè Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..
